- I have had mine for about 7 months so far and do keep water inside of it when not in use. There has been no issues with rust thus far, and I just checked the interior of the kettle.
- Yes, the body of the Ovente KG83B Glass Electric Kettle is 100% stainless. The plastic handle and lid do not touch the water at all — the plastic parts are only on the outside
- The coil is completely contained. The round black ring at the bottom of the picture is the heating element. There is a small “peg” in the middle of this round plate. The kettle fits on top of the peg. There are no coils exposed.
- Apparent false advertising aside (I never noticed that!), I exceed the max 1.7L by 1-2 cups typically with no issues.
- I had the experience of the rusting on the rim, near the lid hinge, but not the inside. I empty the water after pouring the water for coffee. The manufacturer said to prevent rust on the rim wipe dry, to remove what it had, they suggested a little baking soda on a damp towel.
